Defly's New Features: The Club's Thoughts
TL;DR: Defly is becoming our favorite wallet
Welcome back to the Club, gov!
We’ve spent hours testing the new features released on Defly, and it’s official: Defly is becoming our favorite Algorand wallet.
The dev team focused a majority of the updates around increasing the wallet functionality to improve the user experience within the app, and they delivered.
We’ve updated our Definitive Defly Guide to include these new features, and you can find a summary of our favorite updates below.
Added Wallet Functionality
You can now send assets and manually add ASAs directly within the app:
With these new additions you can now do the following directly from the app:
Monitor your portfolio’s value in real time (in ALGO or FIAT)
Monitor ALGO’s price
Add an Asset
Buy or Sell an Asset
Send and receive assets by using their respective buttons
And that’s not it.
Selecting an asset in your wallet will open up an in-depth view that includes:
The ability to buy & sell an asset
The ability to set a price alert or add an asset to your starred list
A real-time view of the value and profit / loss of your holdings
The chart icon which takes you to the LP details screen
Details about other pools that include your selected asset
Create a New Wallet
You can create a new wallet directly on Defly now. Start this process by selecting the wallet icon in the upper right and selecting the ‘+’ sign:
Then select ‘New Wallet’, confirm that you understand the wallet creation process, log your secret keys, and name your new wallet:
Edit Wallets
You can also use the wallet icon in the upper right to swap between wallets or edit them.
Swipe right on a wallet to edit the wallet’s name, reveal its secret keys (in ‘Export’), or delete it:
Default Charting Settings
Your candlestick charting settings (time interval & trendlines) now saves your preferences. For example: if you update your interval to 12H and turn trendlines on, those settings will become the default setting for charts even if you close the app out.
How cool is that, gov?
ASA IDs Copyable to Clipboard
You can now copy and paste ASA IDs into the search bar by clicking the clipboard icon. While not the biggest feature, it’s a much appreciated addition from a user experience perspective and helps to cut down on user errors.
How about you? What are your new features? Tell us in the comments below.
And make sure you check out our Definitive Defly Guide if you want to learn more about Defly and how to use it.
As always, thank you for stopping by the Club. Until next time, gov!
Disclaimer: This isn’t financial advice! As we say in crypto, don’t trust – VERIFY! Do your own research and don’t ever invest more than you’re willing to lose. Like any DeFi project, Defly comes with risks especially in its Beta form. The project can fail, smart contracts can be hacked, assets could be compromised, users can be exposed to impermanent loss (if they stake on Tinyman), etc.
There’s even more additional risk to consider with Defly’s beta as it hasn’t completed an official security audit yet. Be safe out there and make sure you do enough research before you decide if Defly is right for you.
